Westview Cemetery:
APG Photo Walk & Publication Opportunity with Beth Lilly

The Atlanta Photography Group is thrilled to announce our next Photo Walk, taking place on Sunday, August 3, from 4–6 PM EST at one of Atlanta’s most stunning and historic locations, Westview Cemetery.

Spanning over 582 acres, Westview Cemetery is not only the largest in the Southeast but also one of the most visually captivating. Opened in 1884, with over half of its grounds still undeveloped, Westview offers a rare blend of history, beauty, and quiet grandeur. At its heart stands the Westview Abbey, a magnificent mausoleum and chapel designed in the ornate Spanish Plateresque style, featuring 27 stained glass panels in the chapel and more than 72 stained glass windows throughout the building.

Ordinarily closed to the public on Sundays and requiring a permit and fee of $500–$1,000 for photography, Westview has granted APG members exclusive access to both the grounds and the Abbey, completely waived for this special event.

Bonus Opportunity: Be Featured in the 2026 Westview Calendar!
As an added incentive, images taken during this photo walk may be submitted for selection in the official 2026 Westview Cemetery calendar. Photo walk leader Beth Lilly and APG Executive Director David Clifton-Strawn will select 12 outstanding images for publication. This is a one-time, non-commercial use. Photographers will retain full copyright of their work.

Don’t Miss Out. Only 30 Spots Available!
Registration is just $10, and space is limited to ensure an intimate and inspiring experience. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 10, from 4–6 PM.

Secure your spot today and take advantage of this rare opportunity to photograph one of Atlanta’s most iconic, cinematic, and historically rich locations.
