Photography has an immediacy that can reveal emotional, philosophical, and cultural truths. It can be factual or subjective, and, like other art forms, photography has the ability to reveal different realities. APG is looking for imagery that uses the revelatory powers of photography to manifest the beauty, the pain, and the mystery of different realities, as well as work that explores the concept of reality. We will consider both still and moving images from all processes, both traditional and digital.
Juror: Anna Walker Skillman
Anna Walker Skillman began her career at the Haines Gallery in San Francisco, CA. In 1993, she moved to Atlanta to manage the studio of famed Atlanta artist Todd Murphy. After working with Mr. Murphy to help establish his career, she joined Jackson Fine Art in 1998. In March of 2003, she purchased Jackson Fine Art from Jane Jackson, who went on to become curator of the prestigious collection of Sir Elton John. At Jackson Fine Art, Ms. Walker Skillman exhibits photography by both emerging and established artists, blending 20th century and contemporary work, and has become an integral part of the arts community.
