APG > Airport Exhibition 2024
This year, the Atlanta Photography Group’s (APG) annual APG > Airport Exhibition juror was Stephanie H. Tung, Byrne Family Curator of Photography, Peabody Essex Museum. She has selected 28 photographs to exhibit in the central atrium of the world’s busiest airport: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). ATL has an average of 275,000 visitors per day, making this an opportunity to have their photographs seen by literally millions of travelers from all over the world.

Peabody Essex Museum
Stephanie H. Tung is the Byrne Family Curator of Photography at the Peabody Essex Museum. She leads the interpretation and presentation of the museum’s growing photography collection. Her research focuses on transnational art exchanges, global modernism, and translation studies. Tung is a contributor to Aperture and Trans-Asia Photography Review, as well as contributing author to The Chinese Photobook (Aperture, 2015), Art and China After 1989: Theater of the World (Guggenheim, 2017), and co-author of Ai Weiwei: Beijing 1993-2003 (MIT Press, 2019). Her publication, Power and Perspective: Early Photography in China (PEM, 2022), was co-authored with Karina Corrigan, and won the Photography Network 2023 Book Prize and 2024 Bei Shan Tang Catalogue Prize. She most recently served as guest-editor for the summer 2023 issue of Aperture magazine, titled Being and Becoming: Asian in America. She holds a B.A. from Harvard University, an M.A. from Princeton University, and is completing her Ph.D. in Princeton University’s Art and Archeology program.
