Photo as Object

What is a photograph beyond the image itself? How does it transform when merged with other materials, altered, or reimagined in new dimensions? This call invites artists who challenge the boundaries of photography—who see it not just as a print or an image, but as a dynamic element in multi-media artworks.

For this exhibition we sought photographic objects that break conventions—works that integrate photography with sculpture, installation, collage, digital manipulation, or any other medium that expands its meaning. How does photography function when it becomes physical, sculptural, interactive, or ephemeral? How does it hold or disrupt memory when its materiality is altered?

We invited submissions that provoke dialogue between photography and its form, between the image and the object, between tradition and transformation.

APG is honored to have as our esteemed juror, Mary Anne Redding, Senior Curator of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
