APG / High Museum Purchase Award
Each year APG’s annual Portfolio exhibition features projects of 6-8 photographers chosen by a nationally recognized curator from submissions. The High Museum of Art has had the opportunity to select multiple pieces for its own collection, the 2019 purchase award will also go to the High Museum’s collection. Future purchase awards may be rotated to well known regional museum collections. The chosen photographic artist will receive a monetary award of $2,500 from APG. This award was crowd-funded in 2016. From 2017 to 2022, the award was jointly funded Edwin Robinson and Julin Maloof and Stacey Harmer in memory of Gloria and Ted Maloof. The award is now funded by the Massey Charitable Trust.
