Belonging

Juror:
Michael Pannier
Founder & Director
Southeast Center for Photography

Atlanta Photography Group (APG) is now taking entries for Belonging 2023, our winter exhibition exploring home and family.  Michael Pannier, Founder and Director, Southeast Center for Photography, in Greenville, SC will be our esteemed juror.

The concept of home and family is deeply ingrained in our lives, shaping our identities, memories, and sense of belonging. We invite artists to explore and redefine the multifaceted dimensions of home and family through their unique artistic vision. The objective is to present diverse interpretations, perspectives, and narratives that embrace and challenge traditional notions and shed light on the dynamic and evolving meanings of home and family.

Themes to Explore:

  • Home as a Concept: Artists are encouraged to portray their personal interpretations of what home means to them. This may include physical spaces, emotional connections, cultural contexts, and more.
  • Family Dynamics and Relationships: Delve into the intricacies of family relationships, roles, bonds, and how they contribute to shaping our perceptions of home and familial identity.
  • Memory and Nostalgia: Explore how memories associated with home and family influence our present experiences and understanding of our past.
  • Diversity of Families: Showcase the diversity of family structures, traditions, and cultures, challenging stereotypes and presenting a broader perspective on family.
