APG welcomes Ryan Nabulsi to lead the January Critique group. Bring photos from your latest project (up to 6 prints) and join in the discussion. Critique is limited to the first 12 participants to register at the beginning of the event.
Ryan Nabulsi was trained as a traditional black and white photographer at Bates College in Lewiston, ME where he graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy in 2006. Focusing more on history and theory at Bates, Nabulsi’s senior thesis challenged the traditional modernist conception of photography arguing for a more holistic approach which would encompass all photographic forms. After Bates, Nabulsi sought further photographic training which led him to Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA. Nabulsi graduated with a MFA in Photography in 2009, which culminated with a solo exhibition of his series Polaroidland at Mint Gallery. Since then, Nabulsi has been based in Atlanta where he freelances and teaches at Gwinnett Technical College. Nabulsi’s work tends to experiment with photographic possibilities merging analog and digital technologies to create unexpected forms.
This is event is free, open to APG members. Non-members may visit and participate in the 1st critique for free – membership is required for following events.
