Exhibition: Choice 2024
02/06/2024 - 03/09/2024
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Atlanta Photography Group is excited to announce our next CFE, Tell Me A Story, which is celebrating street and documentary photography of all styles with a strong narrative. We are looking for your most compelling stories – they can be candid depictions of everyday life, shadows of the city streets, the abandonment of a country road, subtle moments of joy, humor, love, fear or anxiety. Think of work like that created by Diane Arbus, Bruce Davidson, Robert Frank, Josef Koudleka, Helen Levitt, Baldwin Lee, Roy DeCarava, Mary Ellen Mark, Daido Moriyama, Lee Friedlander, Lisette Model, Gordon Parks, and Harry Callahan.
Exhibition: #filmisnotdead
#filmisnotdead is a celebration of the timeless beauty and artistry of analog photography. This juried exhibition showcases the unique and evocative qualities that can only be captured through traditional film. We invited photographers from all around the world to submit their best analog images for a chance to be part of this exhibition. Images were selected by our esteemed juror, Michael Kirkchoff, Editor-in-Chief at Analog Forever Magazine, Founding Editor for Catalyst: Interviews, Contributing Editor at One Twelve Publishing and Co-Host of The Diffusion Tapes podcast.
Call for Entry: Portfolio 2024
The Atlanta Photography Group (APG) invites photographers worldwide to enter images using any photographic process for our upcoming, juried exhibition, Portfolio 2024. This exhibition features strong, cohesive bodies of work (8 or more images as a series). Conor Moynihan, is the Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the RISD Museum. Mr. Moynihan will select photographic works from up to eight artists for the exhibition, and two alternates. Established in 1877 as part of a vibrant creative community, the RISD Museum stewards works of art representing diverse cultures from ancient times to the present and is located in Providence, Rhode Island. The museum houses over 100,000 works. The 8 exhibiting artists will be eligible for the 2024 APG/ Museum Purchase Award of $3000, which is slated for placement into the High Museum’s permanent collection.
