Atlanta Photography Group (APG) is pleased to announce the inaugural call for proposal (CFP) for our new solo exhibition opportunity for APG members. This new offering is the Exhibition Proposal Series (EPS).
Through our EPS, artists of all experience levels have the opportunity to collaborate with APG’s Maloof Gallery staff to organize and present polished, curated exhibitions in our gallery. This series will be two shows annually, and is the only way to be considered for a proposed group (2) or solo exhibition.
For the inaugural CFP, Paula Tognarelli will review all submissions in a democratic process involving hours of thorough reviewing of each submission. Each review results in one exhibition selection. The selected exhibition will also be documented and archived in a virtual viewing room / page on our website.
The APG exhibitions directors will curate the exhibition exclusively featuring the selected artist(s) who submitted proposals. Please note that submitting a proposal does not guarantee an exhibition.

Demos will be given on how to construct accordion books three different ways, plus a few more variations. Along the way, students will create their own handmade books that express their personal photographic content. All levels of experience are welcome. workshop leader: Cynthia Lollis is a professor of printmaking and book arts in Atlanta.

APG is excited to in invite you to another session of Into the Studio as we explore "Concept and Chemistry" with Bridget Conn, a photographic artist who pushes the boundaries of photography as a chemical and physical medium. Through chemigrams and cameraless photography she explores themes of societal struggles, awe and wonder, communication challenges, digital versus physical encounters, and the transformative power of embracing mistakes. Her artistic expression extends beyond prints to using the photographic medium to create installations and sculptural works.
During this session, Conn will discuss the artistic journey that led her to embrace cameraless photographic processes as her primary medium. She will demonstrate the chemigram process in her outdoor "darkroom," and showcase a variety of mixed media techniques in her studio, opening new realms of creative exploration.
Join us as Bridget Conn shares her artistic journey that led her to embrace cameraless photography as a creative exploration of the photographic medium.

The Atlanta Photography Group is excited to announce our next CFE, Storytelling, which celebrates street and documentary photography of all styles with images that reflect a strong narrative. We are looking for images which are a combination of candid depictions of everyday life, shadows of the city streets, the abandonment of a country road, subtle moments of joy, humor, love, fear or anxiety. Think of work like that created by Diane Arbus, Bruce Davidson, Robert Frank, Josef Koudleka, Helen Levitt, Baldwin Lee, Roy DeCarava, Mary Ellen Mark, Daido Moriyama, Lee Friedlander, Lisette Model, Gordon Parks, and Harry Callahan.
